Please let us know if you don't find your question below.

What brand and types of food do you feed your dogs?

Answer: We feed them Go Natural (salmon and oatmeal) along with canned Canine Caviar dog food (Beaver, Venison Tripe or Duck). We also feed them Green Tripe, which is great for gasey fur-babies. In conjunction with the above, we also may feed them Innova's EVO Red Meat Small Bites food.

What dog treats do you find are the best?

Answer: Well, judging how the dogs love them, Wellness makes a great bite-sized jerky treat (venison flavor). These treats are also great for dogs that have food allergies. They also love Merrick's dried beef lung, bullysticks and Zuke's Mini Naturals in salmon flavor.

What cat litter do find the best?

Answer: We actually like two different brands: World's Best and Swheat Scoop. Both brands are all-natural and there is also no "litter dust" when you're scooping out the box or initially filling the box with the litter. They both clump great and are environmental-friendly.

Are there any dog-friendly trails around Truckee to hike my dogs?

Answer: Absolutely! We have Martis Creek off of Hwy. 267 (on the way to Northstar); Judah Loop West of Donner Lake (you can't take too many dogs there though as it's a trail primarily for people); there's Boca Reservoir; Prosser Reservoir; Stampede Reservoir and several others all around the Truckee/Tahoe region.

What veterinarian clinic do you use in the event of an emergency while in Truckee or Woodland?

Answer: We use the Animal Outpatient Care Center of Truckee-Tahoe a.k.a. "The Doctor's Office for Pets". The veterinarian, Dr. Brooks Bloomfield, is a fantastic veterinarian with years of experience with both wildlife and domesticated animals. He is also Jessie's fur-kids' veterinarian. Their number is (530) 587-5144.

We use UCD for the Woodland area.

I've heard that the Bordatella vaccination isn't 100% effective. Is this true?

Answer: Yes. It's our understanding that the Bordatella vaccination is only 85% effective and is only for the most popular strains of kennel cough. It's still better to have it than not and is always a logical decision to have your fur-kid vaccinated for kennel cough especially if you will be Sleepovers he/she.

I'm traveling up to the Tahoe/Truckee region and need to know where to get pet supplies. Do you have pet stores in your area?

Answer: Oh, yeah! There is The Pet Station (on Donner Pass Road); Scraps Dog Bakery (on Donner Pass Road); Tails By The Lake (located in The Village at Squaw).

Do you have a do-it-yourself dog grooming place in Truckee?

Answer: Yep. The Pet Station has one, as well as, a groomer if you would like your dog washed for you.

Why don't you do personal interview or tempermant testing?

Answer: We do perform interviews to ascertain whether or not dogs meet the rigid criteria that we have. However, we do those interviews over the phone. We also have paperwork (Dog Personality Indicator form) that asks pinpointed questions as to the behavior of the dogs. In the event clarification on answers are needed, we will call you and ask you additional questions. It's also a possibility that we will need to see your dog in person to get a better idea of what their personality is like as compared to the answers on the form that we receive.
